I am a wife to a very handsome man, this Summer we will have our 10 year anniversary. I would like to be the Mama of his children and I plan to have one child for every year I have to wait. We're up to ten!
Be the one who stays despite their feelings and desires, be the one who says; "I choose to put my commitment to love honor and cherish ahead of my desire to feel good or follow my dreams".
Your commitment is not to stay married, it is to stay in love, in love with the one you promised and swore and vowed with all your heart to love forever - until you die.
So for awhile you may feel like a resistant groom in an arranged marriage, you might look at your wife and only see who she isn't. Eventually, though, you'll start to laugh with her about something your child said, thenyou'll laugh with her over something that you wouldn't laugh at with anyone else; you'll start seeing who she is, things that she does just because she knows you like it, or sees you need it. You'll feel yourself loving her in a way that you've never loved before, you'll love her for her and not for what you can get from her. You'll thank God you did what was right in his eyes.
The thought of what you almost threw away will sicken you to the core.
If you do leave, all of this may take place anyway and it'll be too late, you'll realize what you threw away, and it will STILL sicken you to your core. Your pride will keep you in your seat but your heart will never be the same.
This works for wives to husbands too.
You've got to check this out! It's something I've just come across online and I think I'll order one for my nursery, another for my living room, and maybe one for the kitchen too!
There are a couple of other companies that make and market these but this one; The Painted House - patterned paint rollers!
seems to have good quality, or even the same patterns, for the best price. You do pay more fr shipping though since it comes from the UK.
Just go see if it's not worth it!
Ps, the house next door goes up for sale tomorrow!!! Won't you be my neighbor??
If you're not a Christian, not attempting to be Christlike, then this is not for you. IF you are a Christian there are a few things I think that we as a nation are forgetting...
1. Respect your political leaders.
Even Saul was chosen by God to be king and David who was next in line by God's design was not willing to harm him. He ran for his own life but he did not threaten Saul's.
2. Respect your elders.
We have elders for a reason and I am the first to mentally yell at the older folks. Not the people I know personally but the bad drivers and the oblivious walkers. No matter how wrong they are I am wrong too.
3. Don't judge the sins around you.
Though I wouldn't steal someones husband and/or kill to cover it up, I have never been called a woman after God's own heart. I don't really even know what that is supposed to mean but David, king, adulterer, & murderer was called just that. This man danced (naked!) through his city in worshipful praise to my God. I don't think that Gods is expecting that from any of us today but... Would I if he did?
4. Be worthy of the calling you have received!
Live your life in a way that rings honor and glory to God, even in the eyes of those who do not know him. Avoid appearance of evil, most of us have the basics down; don't drink, swear, cheat, steal, and we teach our kids not to push, hit, lie, even chew with their mouths open! What we teach them by example though, is to talk about people who have offended us, to be defiant when we dislike the rules or the leaders, that's its okay to be rude, cutting, short, or sarcastic to our spouses, and usually we don't say sorry for any of these things.
As a Christian, it is so important to do the right thing, especially when it's against our will. Especially when it's not a "written" rule.
Did you just step around litter on the sidewalk? Laugh when the Librarian shushed you? Sneer at the old woman who cut you off at Walmart? As Christians, it is our honor to be the example of Christ, especially when everyone else isn't.
I have a firm, no guilt, policy for my blog... Never say sorry for not writing. I've read it a hundred times on other blogs and it ALWAYS sounds so dumb in my head. Like I was waiting on the telephone on hold for 3 weeks. So sorry, but I won't say sorry! I love you though and I am blogging in my heart every day!
In other news, I think we might be moving! We've been led on by a lender, with a closing date that came and went, for nearly 60 days! So we finally got smart and we're talking with another lender. We should have a definite answer on Wednesday...with a closing date I hope!
Our ideal situation is that we move out of our tiny but 4 years new cookie cutter house and into a spacious and rather interesting 42 year old house. Oh the kitchen! Oh the rec room! Oh the huge garage and giant shed in the back yard! I am ready for some counter space, an extra cupboard or two, and some shelves to organize all my crap in the garage! I have totes, three or four, filled with gift bags, tissue paper, shirt boxes, and loads of ribbon. I love to wrap gifts, but in my current situation I would have to be an acrobat to get to my supplies! Don't even let me start on the stash of Easter/Valentine's Day fun I have in another tote or the millions of totes filled with Christmas decor. I will myself to purge the stuff that I have held onto and not used. This is going to be so refreshing!
Pride - which doesn't let us apologize
Selfishness - which convinces us to put our own "happiness" (more like "feel good" moments) before that of our families or spouse
Arrogance - convinces us that we are worth the pain we put others through
You don't have a right to be happy. You have a right to love your spouse.
You don't deserve the first apology, you deserve to give it.
You are not worth the pain you cause others.
You are not incapable of denying yourself.
You don't think its fair to stay together for the kids sake? Don't. Stay in love for the kids sake.
This song was recorded by the Dixie Chicks and it so applies to the DECADE that it took for me to balance my life after my parents divorce.
I've sure enjoyed the rain but I'm looking forward to the sun
You have to feel the pain when you lose the love you gave someone
I thought by now the time would take away these lonely tears
I hope you're doin' fine all alone but where do I go from here
Cause without you I'm not okay
And without you I've lost my way
My heart's stuck in 2nd place
Well I never thought I'd be here without you by my side
It seems unreal to me, that the life you promised was a lie
You made it look so easy, turning love into memories
I guess you got what you wanted, but what about me
Captain America went to Afghanistan in December 2011, he returned in April of this year to find his household in the process of growing! I've mentioned a little of this, that we were getting our foster care license, but I didn't tell you (did I?) that it was due to these sweet little babies I have been baby sitting. We signed our contracts a couple of weeks ago and hope to have placement...soon!
In other news, my darling husband went traveling some more for two weeks in July, this time to Alaska. The military has many ways of fulfilling the dreams of those who are honored to serve. The trip was amazing and I'd like to share a photo or two, with you!
Here he is in the Denali National Park - on this day he was supposed to go jet boating and panning for gold, there was a problem with their driver and they didn't make it in time so instead they hiked around the park for a bit and took some wonderful pictures.
This is a picture of the view from the fitness trail on base.
Must be the life!
Sadly, I can post no pictures of our sweet little friends but just imagine the cutest babies in the world, and then double the cuteness and they're just a little cuter than that!
Now, about food. I'm feeding these people I live with (Captain America and his miniature) all day long, so I'm getting fat fat fat! I've been sick in bed for 4 days and still haven't lost a pound. Enough is enough. We've started on a vegetarian lifestyle due to my athletic husband and his never ending quest to be better than perfect (more about that later), and so we did 2 months of vegetarianism before the captain went to Alaska. We really liked it. So now we want to try it for a year. Eeek!
I'd like to leave you with this; try the Morning Star Farms Spicy Black Bean Burger. Yum Yum Yum.
In your marriage - or any relationship really. Especially your marriage though because, man, living with someone gets frustrating! Your spouse or friend, mother, brother, whoever, was not created to make you happy, to maintain your sense of well being, or to cheer you up.
You were not created even to BE happy. You were created to glorify God by becoming holy through a lifetime of trusting in God through all of your circumstances. God is not a magic genie that pops out to make our dreams and wishes come true. God is God. For us to adore, worship, fear, revere, trust, honor, glorify, and love.
So do not rely on your spouse to make your day brighter, make theirs brighter, don't wait for them to complement you, complement them, serve God by loving your spouse as God has loved us. Thoroughly, unconditionally, never ending(ly), always when you don't feel like it or don't want to, and especially when they don't deserve it, because we never have deserved Gods love, and we never will.
That was the ickiest, messiest, most primitive experience I've ever had.
I've seen some ultra nasty refrigerators in my life and, actually this one didn't come close, but this one is my own, and its the grossest my own has ever been.
Want to make fruit leather? Just leave a jar of jelly on its side for awhile, see what it comes to. There was another kinda of leather under the drawer which came as a shock to me. It wasn't fruit though. More like beef jerky leather, except I think it came from relish. Blah.
My mother would be so proud of me for my moment of motivation, actually probably horrified that it took so long to hit me. Motivation and I have rarely crossed in the last few months? Maybe a bit longer than that... I do sweep my floors and clean my bathrooms regularly though.
I would have taken a picture but I didn't want proof that I could live in such a way! Really though on a scale of 1 to 10, I give this a solid 5. Gross, but didn't really take long to clean up. Thank you Pinterest for little ideas like press and seal lined shelves...even though it didn't seem to work. I'll try again in the future.
Wow. Thanks for tuning in for this very important message today. Now go clean something.
Last week I was given 10 pair of super fun and cute pants/capris for the Summertime! A couple of tops were in the pile too, they are all brands that I would never fork out the money to purchase myself. What an amazing circle this has come around to! I cannot wait for Spring and Summer!!!
There I am, balanced on one foot standing on a chair with a stack of 4 wobbly bowls in one hand, stretching to place them in perfect position without sending my unstable chair backwards or sideways, both have happened. I grab two large wooden spoons from the top bowl when SUDDENLY! The spoons teeter, then totter, time slows to a crawl as I steady one bulky dipper with my free thumb but the other careens toward the counter top below, my left hand streaks through the air and with cat-like speed snatches the spoon just milliseconds before it crash lands, and I am the ninjiest ninja of all.
